Parada del Sol Rodeo

Hitch it up and get ready for a western experience in Scottsdale AZ. The Parada del Sol Rodeo has been a yearly event since 1956 and is one of the oldest PRCA sanctioned rodeos in the country. Most, if not all top rodeo cowboys compete here every year entertaining the huge crowds.

The rodeo is usually held in early March, but always check the rodeo website for scheduled dates and events. The 2012 Parada del Sol is usually held at Westworld of Scottsdale. The 2012 rodeo events are as follows. Doors open about 1.5 hours before the beginning of each session.

Friday, March 2: 7PM
Saturday, March 3: 2 PM (Pro Bull Riding)
Saturday, March 3: 7 PM
Sunday, March 4: 2 PM

Rodeo Tickets. Ticket prices range from $18 to $25, plus surcharges per session in 2012. Prices could change for subsequent years. Tickets may be purchased online at the Parada del Rodeo website, at the gate or in advance at Saba's Western Wear in downtown Scottsdale, Arizona. Often, entertainments is held after the event sessions. Check the rodeo website for current information.

Advice and Suggestions

Wear you western garb and add to the rodeo flavor. General admission seating is on metal bleachers so bring a a blanket or seat pad. Each rodeo session lasts 2 to 2.5 hours. Food and beverages are available on site. Check the Scottsdale Weather. Consider dressing warm for the evening events possibly including a jacket.
